What would you like to talk about?

Questions about estate planning in Lake Worth Beach

How long does it take to set up an estate plan?

It depends on the plan. At the complimentary Peace of Mind Planning Session you get an overview of the process, the flat fee and the timeline before you decide.

Can I meet by video instead of at the office?

Yes. Planning meetings are held by video (Zoom). The signing is in person, at the office or at your home, with the two witnesses and the notary provided by the firm.

Do I need a trust, or is a will enough in Florida?

That is a planning judgment for each family. In Florida, a will cannot be used to prove title to property until it is admitted to probate, while a revocable trust controls the property titled to its trustee or made payable to it. Either way, if the owner leaves a spouse or minor child, Florida’s homestead rules limit how a will or trust can leave the home.

What should I bring to the first session?

Nothing is required. It helps to have a list of what you own (your home, accounts, insurance and retirement plans), any existing will or trust, and the names of the people you would like to name in your plan.
